Soft Willow Basin

♥ Soft Willow Basin ♥

There the sun comes softly
as if through frosted glass
And all of time moves slowly
as the lazy hours pass
The air is warm and sweet
on a quiet summer's day
And you'll hear a gentle laughter
as the fairies dance and play
This honeysuckle place is one
That I wish that I could live in
But only fairies know the way
To that sweet Soft Willow Basin.

Spring Fairies

♥ Spring Fairies ♥

When the snow begins to vanish
And the grass reclaims the ground
The songs of birds will fill the air
With a sweet enchanting sound
The fairies coax the crocus
To awaken from their beds
And toward the sun they gently tilt
Their brightly colored heads
The daffodils are next in line
And soon the tulips too
These busy little fairies
Have so very much to do
For the Winter greys have faded
With the first fair blush of Spring
As the fairies paint their magic
Over each and every thing.

Unseen

♥ Unseen ♥

Fairies dance, light and keen
In forests brushed with shades of green
You'll try to glimpse
But never see
Their sweet clandestine revelry.

"Quote"

"To a poet, words are like a lover to be caressed and wooed." ~ Dawn Litchfield

"Quote"

"A poet's heart feels too deeply for itself,
Oft drowning in joy or sadness,
Either can be equally as devastating" ~ Dawn Litchfield

Woodland Deep

♥ Woodland Deep ♥

Within the pristine woodland
Hushed and hidden, green and deep
Lies a world of mist and magic
The trees a fabled secret keep
Timeless in a shroud of green
The forest fairies play
Lost in ancient dances
On a long-lit summer's day
Till the dusky song of evening
Call them to their sleep
They nestle down in mossy beds
In their eternal forest deep.

Fairy Slumber

♥ Fairy Slumber ♥

Twilight settles o'er the wood
Like a blanket soft on fairy beds
And stars with silent magic glow
As weary fairies rest their heads.

A Mother's Love

♥ A Mother's Love ♥

The fairy mother holds her child
With the gentlest embrace
And all the love she feels for her
Is written on her face
And even though this fairy mom
Is really very small
The love she gives her fairy child
Is the biggest love of all.

The Meadow

♥ The Meadow ♥

I sit quiet here amongst them
In the pastel morning light
The ancient meadow fairies
Full of sweetness and delight
They tend the purple clover
From the backs of honeybees
While the scent of newborn rosebuds
Is wafting on the breeze
They deftly draw the nectar
From each flower as they go
As the mild breath of morning
Gently blows them to and fro
The air is growing warm now
And I wish that I could stay
In this sweet enchanted meadow
Where these ancient fairies play.

Emma's Woods

♥ Emma's Woods ♥

The woods that lay behind us
Hold a magic so they say
And that's what drew her to them
On a gentle summer's day
She came in search of fairies
Hoping she would spy
A gossamer winged creature
Out the corner of her eye
She danced beside the silver stream
As it gently lazed along
Then suddenly she heard it
A lilting fairy song
As she stood there listening
With a smile upon her face
She knew that it was certain
Her woods indeed a magic place

Welcome to my Woodland Deep

Hello and thank-you for stopping by! This is my very first attempt at blogging, so please bear with me because I really haven't a clue as to what I'm doing! LOL! This probably should have been my 1st post, but better late than never. I've been writing poetry for a while now, but it was actually a game on Facebook that inspired me to start writing the fairy poems and they quickly became my favorites. I hope you will enjoy them too! All are welcome here in my woodlands, so pull up a mossy log and join me for some friendship & magic! I hope you'll return often dear friend!
Thank-you for your kind visit...xoxoxox

Where The Fairies Are

♥ Where The Fairies Are ♥

The grasses and the flowers
Are a forest standing tall
To the spritely fairy
Who is really very small
She rides a ladybug to market
And then back home again
The crickets and the field mice
Are the fairy's loyal friends
On her table sits an acorn
Which holds her fairy tea
I wonder if I asked her
Would she share a cup with me
But her world is as elusive
As a shooting star
And I can only dream of
Being where the fairies are

Twilight Fairies

♥ Twilight Fairies ♥

Evening falls around us
As the twilight fairies wake
Their twilight tea and cookies
They scurry 'round to make
Then they're off to make deliveries
To their schedule they must keep
A treat for every forest creature
Then they tuck them off to sleep
They make their rounds each evening
And they do it without fail
And you know their job's completed
When you hear the nightingale

Awakening

♥ Awakening ♥

The morning warm & gentle comes
Sunlight settles like a warm embrace
And like soft fingers comes to waken
Touching every fairy face
They climb upon the toadstools
Their tiffany wings to dry
And when the sun has warmed them well
It's time for them to fly
To gentle tend the flowers fair
And the forest mossy green
With love they do their fairy work
And with magic go unseen.
